King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - "Flying Microtonal Banana"

Imagine seeing a title like this by a band named that and saying "No, thanks." You can't? Good, because who wants to live in that world? Luckily we live in this one, where King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard not only exist but seem to release anywhere from 3 to 100 albums a year.

From the album of the same name, "Flying Microtonal Banana" starts of with the pulse of drums approaching from distance before descending on you in a mystical chorus of instruments. It's like stumbling out of an alley in an exotic land into the most colorful parade and letting it envelope you and pass. Afterward, you ask a local about it. "What parade?" they ask.

This song also featured heavily on the playlist of our recent trip. Always a welcome surprise when it shuffled in.
